 Brett family fonds. -- [ca.1860]-1965. -- 73 cm of textual records. -- 11 photograph albums (ca.850 prints). -- ca.350 photographs (ca.320 prints, 28 negatives). -- Robert George Brett, 1851-1929, was a prominent physician, hotel-hospital owner, businessman and politician Banff, Alberta, Canada from 1883 until 1929.  R. G. Brett and Louise Theodora Hungerford, 1855-1935, had two children, Reginald H. "Harry", 1879-1925, and Robert Earle, 1887-1912.   R. G. Brett served as Lieutenant-Governor of Alberta from 1915 to 1925. -- Fonds contains six series:  I. Robert G. Brett series, 1873-1926;  II. Louise H. Brett series, [between1855 and 1935];  III. Reginald H. "Harry" Brett series, ca.1910-1921;  IV. Helen Brett series, 1925-1965;  V. Brett family series, [ca.1860-ca.1935];  VI. Robert G. Brett series. -- 1873-1926. -- 36 cm of textual records. -- Series consists of three sub-series: A. Personal papers, 1873-1926, 11 cm of textual records; B. Business papers, 1897-1925, 15 cm of textual records; C. Professional papers, 1889-1925, 8 cm of textual records.  Personal papers: 1. Correspondence, 1890-1927; 2. Financial papers, 1873-1925; and, 3. Other papers, 1896-1912?. Business papers: 1. Banff businesses, 1904-1925 (The Sanitarium, Bretton Hall, National Park Drug, Brett Hospital, Grand View Villa, Brett Block and other properties); 2. Businesses outside Banff, 1901-1925 (Halcyon Hot Springs, Canadian Lubricants Ltd. and other properties). Professional papers: 1. Political correspondence, 1889-1890; 2.
