Individual members of the ASA can access the EPTA for ASA organized professional development opportunities.

Education Program Travel Assistance

Purpose: To assist current ASA individual members who wish to attend meetings, conferences, and workshops related to archival activities.

Please note that the ASA has a separate assistance program for ASA workshops and for assistance with education offerings by groups other than the ASA (Professional Development Travel Assistance).

Use of Grant:

Transportation, accommodation, and meals will be considered. EPTA  grants are based on a cost-sharing principle and are not designed to fully support attendance at the Institute or an ASA workshop.

Amount:

Funds will be determined annually based on revenue generated by course fees and the costs of holding the Institute.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be resident Albertans (or those whose permanent address is in Alberta) who are ASA members at the time of the Institute/workshop and complete the Institute/workshop.

Criteria for selection:
  • Expenses will be paid at the rates indicated on the current application form. Receipts must be submitted except for transportation by private vehicle.
  • Grants will be paid after the completion of the workshop and upon submission of receipts.
  • The amount allocated per applicant may be pro-rated according to the number of applicants and the total amount requested for travel assistance.
Deadline:

Applications should be received within thirty (30) days after completion of the Institute/workshop.

To support a graduate student in an archival studies program who is a resident of Alberta.

Professional Development Travel Assistance

This grant supports travel costs for professional development opportunities not provided by the ASA.

ASA Conference Travel Grant

Travel expenses support for those who are attending or presenting at the ASA biennial conference.
