Awards

Our awards honour various aspects of excellence in the archival profession. We offer awards for publications, work with collections, individual contributions to the profession as well as archives advancing awareness through outreach initiatives. Learn more about these awards.

Volunteer Award

This award recognizes a volunteer who is outstanding in their contributions to the member archives, who has demonstrated commitment above and beyond their role, and who makes the archives more open and inclusive for the community.

What the Fonds! Award

This award recognizes excellence in the acquisition, processing, description, and preservation of a fonds or collection, and is open to ASA institutional members.

Alan D. Ridge Publications Award

This award recognizes excellence in the form of research, opinion, analysis, etc. on some aspect of archives studies, records management, the use of records, archival institutions, or the archival profession.

Outreach Award

This award recognizes excellence in an individual or institution that promotes public awareness, appreciation, and support of archives and archival records through an outreach activity or project. It is open to the membership of the ASA that has engaged in an activity or project to promote knowledge, awareness, or interest in archives, records and historical resources (as relating to archives) to audiences beyond the archival profession.
